Mercedes C-Class

1. Disconnect a negative cable (-) the storage battery at the switched-off ignition. Previously it is necessary to remove a box of the filter of air of salon.

Before a detachment of a cable find out a protective code of a radio receiver if that is available, address to the Section Replacement of the storage battery.

2. Isolate for safety reasons the plug of the cable going to a negative pole of the storage battery to exclude thus casual contact to battery poles.
3. Lift the car and remove the bottom facing, address to the Section Removal and installation of a cover of an impellent compartment from the bottom.

Raise a check point around a back support of an engine/check point by means of a garage jack and wooden laying a little.

Only after that disconnect a back beam of an engine/check point.
4. Bring a support under a check point in the form of a garage jack and wooden laying.

5. Remove a back beam of an engine/check point (1) for what unscrew bolts of fastening (2) and (3).

6. Disconnect the holder of a cover of an impellent compartment (4).
7. Disconnect the holder of system of release (5).
8. Remove a reception pipe (5).
9. Disconnect the back exhaust silencer at a suspension bracket around the additional exhaust silencer, lower it a little and fix it in this situation by a wire.
10. Unscrew from below a weight strip between a check point and a body.
11. Remove a starter, address to the Section Removal and starter installation.
12. Disunite the socket of the inductive sensor of a speedometer.
13. Remove the driveshaft, address to appropriate section.

The forward flange of the driveshaft remains on the driveshaft, instead of on a check point.

14. Uncover drafts of gear shifting at a check point and disconnect draft from a check point.
15. Disconnect from the central block, previously having removed a lock finger.
16. Disconnect draft of switching.
17. Disconnect a check point from the block of cylinders.
18. Slowly lower the garage lift, thus the check point a little falls. Remove horizontally a check point back from directing pins and take out from coupling.
19. Lower a check point.

Check point lower only then, primary shaft of a box left a coupling disk, otherwise the disk of coupling can be damaged.

1. Before installation check coupling, address to the Section Removal, installation and coupling check.
2. Check ease of a course of the bearing of switching off of coupling. If before removal at switching off of coupling noise of the bearing of switching off of coupling was audible, replace the bearing.

At engines with a two-mass flywheel shlitsevy connection of a disk of coupling has a covering nickel. Therefore it is not necessary to grease primary shaft of a check point. A sign of a disk of coupling for a two-mass flywheel is lack of dempferny springs.

3. Engines without a two-mass flywheel: Clear shlitsevy connection of primary shaft and grease with a thin layer of MoS2-greasing, for example, MOLYKOTE BR 2. Do not put too much greasing, otherwise greasing can get on frictional surfaces of coupling that will result in malfunctions in coupling work. The necessary amount of greasing corresponds to the size of corn grain.
4. Raise a check point and enter horizontally into coupling. If at installation primary shaft of a check point is not fixed in a coupling disk, turn a shaft a hand behind for a flange for the driveshaft.
5. Fix a check point on the engine the moment 40Нм.
6. Establish a starter, address to the Section Removal and starter installation.
7. Connect draft of switching, previously having greased with a thin layer a spherical support.
8. Connect to the central block and fix it a lock finger.
9. Connect to a check point draft of switching, establish a cover.
10. Connect driveshaft and check point flanges. The moments of an inhaling of being self-stopped nuts of a flange of the driveshaft to a check point are given in Specifications.
11. Join the socket of the inductive sensor of a speedometer.
12. Fix a back support of an engine/check point the moments specified in Specifications.
13. Fix a weight cable to a check point and a body.
14. Fix the holder for a cover of an impellent compartment (4).
15. Fix the holder of a reception pipe (5) systems of release.
16. Establish into place release system, address to the Section Removal, installation of system of release and tightness check.
17. Check oil level in a check point, if necessary add oil, address to Head Routine maintenance.
18. Check gear shifting adjustment, if necessary adjust on HUNDRED.
19. Establish the bottom facing of an impellent compartment.
20. Lower the car on wheels.
21. Attach a negative cable (-) to a battery battery room at the switched-off ignition. Establish into place a box of the filter of air of salon. Enter a code of a radio receiver and establish time on hours.
