Removal, installation of system of release and tightness check

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

At installation of system of release watch that separate elements of system were densely joined with each other. Otherwise at control of the fulfilled gases incorrect results can be received.
6-cylinder engines have two-line system of release with dual pipes. Works with this system it is carried out similar to work with the one-line system described below.

Operation of lifting and car installation on supports is connected with danger! Therefore before carrying out operation familiarize with Poddomkrachivaniye's Section and Introduction towage to the management.

1. Lift and establish the car on supports.
2. Remove the bottom facing of an impellent compartment, address to the Section Removal and installation of a cover of an impellent compartment from the bottom.
3. Spray all bolts and nuts of system of release by an udalitel of a rust. Wait some time.
4. Petrol engine: Remove from holders sockets a lambda probes and disunite them.
5. Petrol engine: Disconnect a reception pipe from a final collector.
6. Diesel engine: Disconnect a reception pipe from the preliminary catalytic converter for what wring out a collar.
7. Bring wooden support under system of release or ask the assistant to take system.

8. Disconnect the holder (1) reception pipe. On an illustration the engine 271 is shown.

9. Unscrew nuts (1) on the holder of a transmission. Remove the carving level lying under them. On an illustration the engine 611 is shown.

10. 6-cylinder petrol engine 112: Disconnect the holder of system of release on the car bottom.
11. Lower release system in a set and take out it.
12. If necessary separate the catalytic converter and the additional exhaust silencer.

The used catalytic converter contains valuable materials which can be utilized. HUNDRED MERCEDES-BENZS accept converters being in the use, and their residual cost is considered upon purchase of the new converter.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check existence of cracks and damages of rubber support and the holder, if necessary, replace.
2. If the parts which were in the use are established again, clear an emery paper of combustion and rust products flanges of pipes. Surely apply new sealing laying, bolts and nuts. To facilitate process of an otvorachivaniye of bolts and nuts it is recommended to grease them before installation by high-temperature copper paste.

Do not allow hit of high-temperature paste in release system in front of the catalytic converter. It is not allowed to apply also liquid hermetics since the catalytic converter can be polluted.

3. Petrol engine: establish a reception pipe with new laying and fix on a final collector, without tightening.
4. Diesel engine: Establish a reception pipe with a new sealing cone on the preliminary catalytic converter and clamp a collar.

5. Establish on the car bottom the holder (1) system of release with rubber support (2). Establish a reception pipe, freely, without pulling it. The distance of elements of system of release to any detail of the car should be not less than 25 mm.

6. Establish a carving level (1) holder of a reception pipe. Nuts (2) on the holder of a reception pipe surely replace on new and tighten the moment 20Нм.

7. Tighten connecting flanges and collars of a reception pipe the moment 20Нм.

8. Petrol engine: Join sockets a lambda probes and fix on holders.
9. Start the engine and check release system on tightness.
10. Establish the bottom facing of an impellent compartment, address to the Section Removal and installation of a cover of an impellent compartment from the bottom.
11. Lower the car on wheels.

Check of tightness of system of release

At models with the petrol engine and the adjustable catalytic converter the leakage of system of release before a lambda probe can result in the following malfunctions:

· To difficulties in engine start.
· To engine vibrations on single turns and to engine stops.
· To breakthroughs at car dispersal.

Check conditions: Engine cold or warm.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Start the engine and at the working engine close a rag the exhaust silencer.
2. Hear to release system for the purpose of leakage definition. If necessary spray places of connections a head of cylinders / a final collector and final a collector/reception a pipe means for search of leaks and find them on arising bubbles.
3. Eliminate a leakage.
